Thankful

Oh, am I.

- I'm thankful for the crazy ride this year which has gotten me to such an amazing place.

- I'm thankful for my sweetie. It has been terrifyingly beautiful the entire time.

- I am, of course, thankful for my puppila. She has saved my life so many times I can't even count anymore.

- Which means, I suppose, I'm extra thankful I never did it.

- I'm thankful that a dear, dear friend of mine is growing back her wings and breaking free.

- I'm thankful for Modular Bondage. (And those who don't know me well? This is a group of ppl, not an activity. [Get your minds out of the gutter. Or, hell, just leave them there and enjoy splashing w/me.])

- I'm thankful for a very cool family!

- I'm thankful for writers of books that rarely fail to call to me. Particularly the ones left alive: C. S. Friedman, Ursula K. LeGuin, Toni Morrison, Clive Barker, Isabelle Allende, Daniel Keyes, Samuel Delany, Dorothy Allison, Keri Hulme, Cornelius Eady, Genevieve Valentine, Randall Kenan, China Mieville, Nalo Hopkinson.

- I'm thankful for writers who write blogs that inspire me: John Scalzi, Neil Gaiman, Caitlin Kiernan.

- I'm thankful for the music that brought me my most extraordinary friends, my surprising inspirations, and my delicious emotional freedom. (Thank you Trent; thank you Ulf; thank you Amanda.)

- I'm thankful for astronomy. It's forever a source of glee and awe, regardless of the vagaries of my life.

- I'm thankful for chemistry. For this I mean both the equation of molecules and reactions, as well as the ineffable air-click between two unique people.

- I'm thankful that OKCupid and Sniffapalooza existed at a time in my life to give me some fantastic friends.

- I'm thankful for Twitter and some of the folk I've met there.

- I'm thankful I have so much in my life and in my brain to keep me engaged, entertained, continually educated, and gasping in awe over the sheer beauty of it.

- I'm thankful that through all the problems my body hands me, it has never been so bad that I couldn't take care of myself or the pup.

- Most of all I'm thankful that things keep blooming, both in nature and in life. Constant cycles, always different, always fascinating.

Loads of love and wishes of joy to you all.
